Clover Fitzgerald and the Last Train to Summer
Every once in a while, a photoshoot comes together in a way that reminds me why I love photography so much.
Clover agreed to dress up in authentic 1920s-inspired clothing and spend an afternoon with Ami and me at the train depot. Convincing a seven-year-old to trade modern clothes for vintage fashion and stand in front of a camera isn't always a sure thing, but Clover was a great sport from start to finish.
The historic setting of the depot provided the perfect backdrop. Between the old brick, weathered wood, and timeless architecture, it wasn't hard to imagine stepping back nearly a century. Clover embraced the experience completely, bringing curiosity, personality, and just the right amount of playful energy to every frame.
What made the session especially memorable wasn't just the location or the wardrobe—it was watching Clover have fun with it. She moved naturally in front of the camera, and her expressions brought the photographs to life. Some people simply photograph well, and Clover is definitely one of them. Whether she was striking a pose, exploring the platform, or laughing between shots, she made our job easy.
The best part of the day was spending time together. Ami and I shared the experience behind the cameras, working together to capture a little bit of movie magic while creating memories we'll all look back on for years to come.
Photography has a way of freezing moments in time, and on this particular afternoon, it felt like we were capturing two eras at once—the history of the depot and a fleeting chapter of Clover's childhood.
I'm grateful she was willing to play along and help bring the idea to life. The photographs turned out beautifully, but the time spent together was the real highlight.
