BOMA Idaho Excellence Awards: Celebrating the People of Idaho Commercial Real Estate
I’ve been a member of BOMA Idaho for damn near 20 years.
I’ve been on the Board of Directors for most of that time, which means I’ve sat through a lot of meetings, eaten a lot of rubber chicken, shaken a lot of hands, and watched this organization—and this industry—change quite a bit.
But the BOMA Idaho Excellence Awards are still one of my favorite nights of the year.
The 2026 awards were held at the Idaho State Museum, and once again, the room was packed with people from every corner of Idaho’s commercial real estate world. Building owners. Property managers. Engineers. Contractors. Vendors. Facility people. The folks who make the deals and, just as importantly, the folks who keep the buildings running after the deals are done.
And that’s the part I really love.
These awards aren’t just about buildings. They’re about people who give a shit about the work they do.
You can see it on people’s faces when their name gets called. You can hear it in the applause. There’s a genuine pride in this industry that I don’t think gets enough credit.
Most of the time, when commercial real estate is doing its job, nobody notices. The lights come on. The HVAC works. The tenant gets their space. The parking lot doesn’t suck. The building looks good. Problems get handled before most people even know there was a problem.
That doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens because a whole bunch of people care.
I’ve had a hand helping these awards evolve over the years, and it’s pretty awesome to see how far they’ve come. But what makes me happiest is that the heart of the event hasn’t changed.
People still genuinely want to celebrate each other.
After nearly two decades with BOMA Idaho, I’m probably more aware than most of how much time, energy, and work goes into making an organization like this successful. And I’m extremely proud to have been a small part of it.
Congratulations to everyone recognized at the 2026 BOMA Idaho Excellence Awards.
You earned it.
And to the people who didn’t take home an award but showed up, did the work, supported their teams, took care of their buildings, and made this industry better anyway—keep doing your thing.
That’s what this is really about.
